Enjoyed a lovely dinner with the family celebrating my dad's birthday here. David and his team were amazing ! The weekly Sunday stage performance brought reality into movies where you see the ladies singing with a LIVE band playing while dinner is being served. My parents particularly enjoyed the chicken wanton soup, snow cabbage, and smoked duck ! The longevity buns served on the peach tree concept were gorgeous ! There's nothing to fuss about having dinner here. Impeccable!

This was my first visit and I totally love it!! Me and my friends came for the year-end package i.e. 6-course dinner with a performance! It's a really value-for-money package as the food was marvelicious, the service was good, accompanied with a stunning performance! Didn't take photos for all the dishes as we were admiring the plating as well as busy devouring the dishes... LOL It's so beautiful and super yummy!! We love the Drunken Chicken SO MUCH that we ordered another a-la-carte so that we could have more!! Haha! Everything was amazing too! We were very well taken care of by the staff and manager! All of them were so friendly and nice. ❤️🙏 If you love Cantonese cuisine, this is the place you MUST visit. Yah... Looking forward to visit them again during CNY! Keep up the good work!

Attended the UFM1003’s 22nd Birthday Celebration at this restaurant recently. Truly impressed by the dishes they served! So delicious & each portion served was just nice! Their service staff are mostly elderly who are experienced, efficient & polite. Very much better than some places that hire temp… Their herbal soup is super nice! & the dessert is a “killer”! Will definitely be back again :-)

Food taste great but quite pricey. Kudos for the attentiveness of all the staff and fantastic service rendered to my family! There is a live band and the singer sang very well for all the popular Chinese and Cantonese songs too! An overall praiseworthy experience I had!

the atmosphere here with the live band was fantastic; the singer and musicians were great. would rate 5 stars for the band!!! delicious and unique dishes, but the restaurant service was quite slow… our dishes took quite a long time to be served, with the paofan taking the longest at about 1 hour :(

Live music that reminisces the 1930s jazz era of good old Shanghai is the coolest & unique experience in Singapore. Great appeal if one loves nostalgia & digs the Chinese shidaiqu 时代曲. Songs by the likes of divas 周璇,姚莉 are performed tastefully here. The singer is elegant and did good interpretations for the classics. Special mention to the manager, David, and the service staff - kind, good sense of humour & very attentive. Service staff warmly accommodate our request to sit near the stage and constantly check in with us throughout dinner. The smoked duck is very tender & skin crispy! Scallion noodles is so springy to the bite. Egg white ball dessert w red bean & banana is refreshing though I prefer more banana in the filling. Will come back again for more good old Shanghai vibes.

Disappointing First Visit to Grand Shanghai Restaurant in Singapore I recently had the opportunity to dine at Grand Shanghai Restaurant in Singapore, and I must say that my first visit left me feeling rather disappointed. While the restaurant had been recommended to me by a friend, my experience fell far short of my expectations. Pros: Ambience: The restaurant's ambience was pleasant, with traditional Chinese decor that added a touch of elegance to the dining experience. Chinese Cuisine Variety: Grand Shanghai offers a wide range of Chinese dishes, promising an extensive selection of flavours and culinary experiences. Cons: Unwelcoming Reception: My visit began on the wrong foot when the front desk Chinese lady did not make any effort to guide me to my reserved table, even though it was my first time there. This lack of attention made me feel unwelcome and lost. Inconsistent Service: As our food was served, I noticed that some guests at adjacent tables were left waiting for their orders. It was disappointing to witness the lack of consistency in serving the food promptly to all customers. We had to repeatedly call over the waitress to remind them to serve the missing portions, which disrupted our dining experience. Lack of Attention: The waitstaff's attentiveness was notably lacking throughout the evening. For instance, they failed to refill the teapot with hot water, even when we turned the lid upside down as a signal. This neglect of basic service elements hindered our enjoyment of the meal. In conclusion, my first visit to Grand Shanghai Restaurant in Singapore was not as enjoyable as I had hoped. The restaurant's beautiful decor and variety of Chinese dishes are overshadowed by the unwelcoming reception, inconsistent service, and a lack of attention from the waitstaff. While the potential is there, there is significant room for improvement in customer service and attentiveness to ensure a more pleasant dining experience for guests.
